Grace Baptist Church - A glance at the past and

view of where we are going.

Grace Baptist Church had an interesting beginning starting on April 29,1897 with a morning service and immediately calling a bussiness meeting to determine the interest in starting a bible believing church. All who were interested in such an undertaking were asked to raise their hand. Eight individuals raised their hands and in doing so became the charter members of the First Baptist Church of Anaconda. By July of that same year enough interest had developed that the believers decided to offer evening services aswell. Five years and one month from the first bussiness meeting the church was incorporated. in 1896 the Scandinavian Union Church was built and that is where the baptists met for worship in 1911 the Swedish Baptists became the sole owners of the union church building in 1963 the old building was demolished to make way for a larger and more modern building. Over a hundred years later baptists are still going strong in the Deerlodge valley. Grace Baptist is also going forward with a purpose and a vision in which. Grace Baptist Church has prioritized their goals. First and foremost in the priorities of Grace Baptist Church is the worship of the triune of God as listed in John 4:23-24. A second practice of Grace Baptist is the discipleship and evangelism of the community of Anaconda, as commanded by Christ in Matthew 28:19-20. Grace Baptist does and plans to offer strong age appropriate ministries as encouraged by Malachi 4:6. The ideal of the church is to create a loving family enviroment where believers fellowship with one another sharing their joys as well as receiving support from each other. Grace Baptist Church encourages all christians in the community by coming alongside them in worship events. Grrace Baptist Church continues to be a strong bible believing church where christians gather to praise the one true God and worship his son Jesus Christ.
