Salvation is achieved by faith in Jesus Christ through the grace given by God the Heavenly Father. Salvation is required of all in order to be granted eternal life in Heaven, because God is not able to look upon sin."Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." The necessity of salvation is due to sin."Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life." Salvation is a free gift not received by any merit. "Ephesians 2:8-9 You are saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ not of works it is a gift of God lest any man should boast." Salvation requires admittance of sin and belief in Jesus "John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who so ever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life." However confession of such faith is necessary - Romans 10:9 "If you believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God and confess with your mouth that God raised him from the dead then you should be saved."
